As part of our Environment Engineering specialist services Exceed Africa in March 2018 through May 2018 was able to assist Reeflords in unlocking their Randpark Ridge Extension 105 development known as Orchid Ridge. The site was obtained with approved development rights, layout and environmental approvals when it was later discovered with secondary environmental opinion that it was mostly a wetland with two layer ground water flows. One shallow and one very deep. Concerned that the development will disturb these ground water characteristics and that the development could ultimately be completely halted, Reeflords in agreement with City of Johannesburg Environmental Department confirmed that if they could engineer the proposed development to maintain these ground water characteristics the development could proceed.
Exceed Africa provided the environment engineering that integrated the City of Johannesburg’s environmental requirements and concerns while achieving Reeflords development objectives, through alternative options and engineering outside of the norm.
